Hans Klingler, spin doctor for the RPT, told msnbc that the SOLE purpose of the convention was to energize and organize delegates for the election. Really? I thought it was also to elect party officers, vote on rules and platform changes, and select delegates to Minnesota. A short memo to David Barton, Tina Benkiser, Robin Armstrong, and the rest of the Elmer Gantry bunch who have disgraced Christianity and misrepresented the Christian Republicans they claim to lead. A little prophetic verse reading might do better justice to your fraud and coming downfall, than the diatribe of what you will call, just another bitter Delegate.

Has there been any thought to posting scans of the documents that prove that the delegates were ineligible, highlighting the parts that show this?

I think the more information that makes it into the public domain the less the establishment can deny the allegations.

Granted, the issue has sort of fizzled for many, now that the convention is over. Even so, I intend to pass the details on to my county party leadership, to make sure they understand the extent of the offenses. I really don't think they do. Most people just assumed the issue was all about upstart Ron Paulers and never did really look into it. I'm on good terms with my county leadership and believe they would be at least receptive enough to hear me out.

Additionally, I will be sending a "Convention Report" to all of my neighbors in my precinct who voted Republican in the last primary going over the business that was accomplished at the convention, since I was a delegate representing them. In it I will mention the controversy related to Nueces County and related to the election of the precinct chairman. I will direct them to your site and the fairconvention site for more info. I'd love to also refer them to the Texas GOP press release for balance, but it appears that this is no longer available on their web site.

Thanks for keeping everyone informed as this has developed. Even though the convention is over I hope you continue to update us with any developments related to these two issues and any other political topics that you believe are publishworthy.

Thank you for your kind words! I've missed working with you on the RNC. The last four years have not been nearly as much fun. I remember the days when I thought all of us (conservatives) were on the same team. It is sad how fractured we have become as a party. I hope that one day we can bring everyone together again. The young lady who recently moved from Dallas County to Tarrant County has a right to be angry as do all others who were disenfranchised in the Texas Republican Party. The young lady was disenfranchised in an obviously coordinated effort from the top down. Ask your SREC representatives why they did not object to the RPT State Chair's remarks in the March 2008 SREC meeting in Austin?

In that meeting, the State Chair warned the SREC members to beware of the new people in the party who would come to the precinct conventions and the county/senatorial conventions. Her message was clear: Do not let those people on your delegations to state convention.

It is definitely being orchestrated top to bottom, and I imagine from national down as well. I've heard of an email from the top of the RPT (Tina?) directing county chairs to block newcomers from participating.

This definitely happened in Parker County, newcomers were not welcome at all. Our county chair refused access to precinct records (until after the convention) and refused to tell us who was chairing committees and where those meetings were to be held. They were not held until the morning of our county convention. Only one person was checking credentials for over 500 delegates, and she refused any help. Just before the convention, our chair sent out an email specifically warning about "the Ron Paul" people.

The credentials committee posted on their website that they would meet at 8am. We were refused entrance to the building until 8am. We went straight to their meeting to be told they had met at 7:30am and had denied our challenges (after first playing like they didn't know about any challenges.)

At sign in, we had a husband and wife who were the only ones at their precinct convention and so were entitled to all the votes of their precinct. Our county chair had listed them as ineligible to be at the convention because they hadn't voted in the primary. The credentials lady insisted they hadn't voted and couldn't participate. It was only when they produced not only their receipt from voting but also their voting cards - hand signed by their election judge - that she relented and "allowed" them to enter. She was almost able to eliminate an entire precinct of votes that way, but she didn't succeed. Three video cameras in her face documenting the whole fiasco might have had something to do with her "change of heart" also.

They tried telling us we couldn't film, but we told them we could, based on state law. We soon heard a frazzled older lady rushing up to the county sherriff saying, "Sherrif, there's gonna be trouble. There are people here quoting the election code!"

Two years ago a number of us in Gillespie County suffered from much the same problems that the entire state party is suffering from now. Because the county chairman, Pauline Cusack, and whoever else, decided that they did not like those of us who supported Nathan Macias for state rep, they brought in a number of illegal delegates, outvoted us, and kept us out of the state convention.

We challenged them at the state convention credentials committee, and we were (barely) able to have the county chairman, and the credentials chairman, Lucy Pehl, ejected from the state convention. But it wasn't easy: whoever orchestrated the hearings stacked everything against us.

I contacted you about it, and you wrote me a nice little email. Do you remember?

Before the 2008 state convention, Lucy Pehl, who is now the county chairman, called delegates to the state convention and asked if they were supporting Ron Paul for President. It seems you are correct in saying that a statewide effort was undertaken to quash any dissent.

Two years ago when the law-breaking and rule-breaking occurred, a number of people told us just to be quiet and come back stronger the next time, including Jeff Fisher, the state executive director. Apparently it does no good to come back stronger the next time, because the other side does not follow the rules or the state election law.

It is also interesting that, during our hearing before the state credentials committee, the state party legal counsel lied before the committee, saying what the other side did was legal, when very clearly it was not.

I am totally sickened by the level of corruption and illegality that appears to run from the top to the bottom of this party.
Until the criminals who are orchestrating this mess are removed from power, they will continue to perpetuate their misdeeds.
